MEET

JOSH HOLDER

I have always enjoyed yoga poses and movements however, there was a time in my life when I simply didn’t understand savasana. I can remember laying on my mat at the end of class often thinking “I just paid $15 for this class and you want me to lay here and do nothing!?”

One day, there was a change.

It was a very trying and tumultuous time in my life personally and professionally. During a yoga practice in a balancing pose (balancing half-moon), I experienced a peace and lightness in my mind that I hadn’t in years. Later in the practice, during savasana, I laid there sweaty with tears in my eyes. I realized I was tired. I was tired of constantly being on edge, anxious, and depressed, and even more tired of pretending that I was fine.

It was in that moment, deep in savasana, that I decided to become an instructor.

If I can empower even one person to experience the peace I experienced during that fateful and empowering moment, it’s all worth it. While my teaching style and where I teach has changed and evolved over time, my goal has always remained – to share my practice with as many people as possible. Wherever you may be in life, from teen to senior and all stages between, whether you come to practice in a chair or on the mat, whether you're seeking strength or healing, I want to share this practice with you. The gift of yoga changed my life and it can change yours, too.
